West
Chilcotin Forest Products is dedicated to working
with the community.
Having
proven that First Nations and Industry can form a
successful partnership, the community as a whole is
active in landscape issues, and in ensuring that the
needs of West Chilcotin Forest Products Ltd.
mesh with the needs of all resource users. Ongoing
projects such as furbearer studies, pine mushroom
research, repressed pine fertilization, juvenile spacing,
and preliminary growth and yield work are bringing
a more rounded approach to forestry in the Anahim
area, while main phase contractors have shown much
flexibility in their efforts to deal with the challenges
presented by the mountain pine beetle.
