The CSA's Sustainable Forest Management System Standard represents a new era in forest management and accountability. Voluntary registration of a Defined Forest Area to Can/CSA shows the world that the area is being managed according to sustainable forest management principles and criteria. Registration to this national standard is a very large undertaking for any forest management operation. Being registered means the organization has engaged in a rigorous public participation process and has established and maintained a management system to continually improve their forest management performance towards sustainable forest management criteria. The ISO standard is applicable to West Chilcotin Forest Products Ltd.'s woodlands operations department and Yun Ka Whu'ten Holdings Ltd.'s field operations department.
